Kimkins – Atkins – South Beach? Top Ten Ways To Make ANY Diet WORK

By April Wend Starting a diet? Having trouble sticking to the plan your already on? Don’t get discouraged… do something about it! Here you can find 10 simple tips to help you become more successful in shedding unwanted pounds — hands down! Why not get more bang out of the time and effort put into your weight loss program by completely eliminating the same mistakes so many others make? Take time to read and think each point through, and set yourself up for diet victory. 10. Pick a plan that does not cost you extra “out of pocket” money each week. Sure, these plans all sound like a good deal at first, but guaranteed somewhere down the line, you’ll find a reason to not want to pay that money any more. Especially if you are not seeing results on the scale as quickly as you’d like. What happens then? Nine times out of ten, you give up the plan all together and you won’t even have enough money left to buy that Big Mac you’ve been wanting. Instead, find a plan where you pay a one time membership fee for life, or better yet, find a plan that costs you nothing at all. That way, if you find yourself off track, it will be a lot easier to jump back on. Money will not be the determining factor. You’ll be! 9. Pick a plan that does not require you to leave the house, or go to a meeting or gym. Sure these things have their place and may be necessary for some people, but if you think about it.. Isn’t life busy enough already? Once you get overwhelmed and feeling frustrated, what’s going to be the first thing you take off your schedule? It isn’t going to be the kids soccer game, it’ll be your diet plan! Once again, with these types of weight loss programs, you’re most likely going to be out some cash somewhere along the line. Take the time to think ahead, consider your lifestyle, is finding the free time to dedicate yourself to these extra responsibilities realistic for you? Are they necessary? Try to choose a plan that does not demand so much of your attention. Chances are, you’ll stick with it for the long haul. 8. Pick a plan that does not require you to eat specialized foods that cost. (Unless of course, it is necessary in your circumstance). Again, think about it. What’s going to happen when Grandma invites you and the kids over for dinner? You’re going to all of a sudden feel left out and deprived. I mean come on, after all.. it’s Grandma! This in turn adds, not only temptation to quit or get off track, but it adds stress to you and your whole situation. Choosing a plan that is “everyday food friendly” is always the way to go. Not to mention a whole lot nicer to your wallet. The shipping prices alone on these foods would be a heavy tote to carry over the long haul. 7. Plan ahead and stick to your menu choices that you’ve made ahead of time. Most people make the mistake of choosing their meal right at the last minute, when they are the most hungry! That is a time when a dieter is most vulnerable! What happens? The dieter takes time to see what food is available, and when there is nothing “diet friendly” ready and on hand they are more tempted to grab something quick, like a pop tart or donut. The bad thing is, they reason with themselves saying “well, this one time won’t hurt.” Then, it is an endless cycle that continues until finally, they are discouraged they are not losing any weight. And give up. A quick way to remedy this problem is to make a simple menu plan the night before. Then, STICK TO IT. Make THAT time your decision making time and don’t allow yourself to not follow through. 6. Show food who’s boss. Learn to say NO. Sound difficult? It shouldn’t, you do it everyday! Think about it, you say no to things all the time! You go shopping, and there are things you really really want, but perhaps you can’t have. Why? Because you can’t afford it. So you accept that simple fact and walk away and eventually get over it. Why, because that’s life! You would love to go out to the movies tonight with your friends, but you have homework that really needs to get done so you do what’s right and finish it and tell your friends maybe another time. Use this same discipline in your relationship with food. Learn to say NO. 5. Don’t focus all your attention on your “diet.” Eventually your going to want to “turn the channel.” Find a proper balance, this can be done by making all your food choices and decision making for the week, or for the day AT ONE TIME. Then simply make up your mind your going to stick with it because after all, you’ve already though it all through and made up your mind. There is no more choices or thought left to be put in it. Now it’s “doing it time.” Put those decisions you’ve previously made into action when the time comes to do so! Don’t let something so easy overwhelm you. Let me give you an example of how easy this is: You have a job. The boss leaves you a list of specific things he wants done for the day. You do them. Understand? 4. Stick to ONE diet plan. Don’t fall into the mistake of jumping from one plan to another just to accommodate your cravings. For instance, don’t start a low carb plan and go without the bread and cereal only to turn around a week later and switch over to low fat eating just so you can HAVE the bread and cereal. What will happen? Let’s just say this is a sure fire recipe for complete diet disaster. Want just one reason why you shouldn’t do this? Well think about it. Low Carb plans make it possible for one to rid themselves of excess water weight because their carbohydrate intake is so low. If you go from low carb and then switch over to a higher carb diet, guess what happens? All of a sudden all these extra pounds turn up on the scale overnight! You freak out, get discouraged and frustrated and eventually give up because “nothing ever works for me! I can’t lose weight!” Stick to ONE plan, be nice to yourself. 3. Remember that every right choice and sacrifice you make will have great reward. They WILL payoff. Think about it. You spend a certain amount of time going from your highest weight down to your goal weight. During that time you make the choice to not eat that cake at the church bake sale but instead you wait and order a nice salad at lunch. Over time, the rewards from these types of choices will begin to manifest themselves in your new appearance. You will look leaner and slimmer and guess what? This work you did ONCE has the ability to dish out lifetime residual payoffs. Don’t you think this is much more beneficial than that 1 piece of cake? Consider your “reward collecting” time, it’s coming. 2. Still having trouble resisting temptation? Treat resisting food as putting “money in the bank” for the purchase of your new body. Every right choice/sacrifice you make is a down payment that your making. Eventually, you’ll have the bill paid off and the new body will be yours! Free and clear. Who ever thought it was that easy? We can BUY newer, sexier, leaner bodies for ourselves after all. Not with money, but with cake! 1. Did you get off track? So what.. people do it every day! When someone drives to a new location for a job interview and they take a wrong turn. Once they discover they are going the wrong way do they keep on going? No, they turn around and get back on the right track. And guess what? They eventually get there. Maybe later then they originally planned, but they still arrive. You can do the same with your weight loss. Getting off track does not mean you failed, it means your human. You simply need to turn around and go back to where you left off and keep going. After all, don’t you want to “ARRIVE” too? About the Author: April Wend – A 34 year old single mother on a quest to shed 160+ pounds. She has lost 95 pounds – with 65 to go! Christians and Online Dating

By Kay Mub Being a Christian single, and wanting a relationship with another Christian can make your life a bit of a challenge. To make your life easier you could consider a Christian online dating service. These are used by thousands of Christian singles every day. What has caused this huge rise in Christian singles using dating services to find love? Most Christian singles usually hope to find a partner within their local Christian community, but soon realize that their ‘options’ of eligible partners are usually quite limited. Trying to meet singles who share similar goals and values outside of a Christian community can be very difficult and frustrating. This is why online Christian dating services have become so popular with single Christian women and men around the world. By using a Christian dating site you are exposing yourself to a whole network of Christian singles all looking to meet like minded individuals such as yourself. For some Christian singles, Christian online dating is a fantastic way to meet singles for dating and love especially if they are looking for someone who shares similar Christian beliefs as almost all singles using these sites are Christian. In addition to this, unlike other dating sites Christian dating sites remove that option of casual dating or hookups which means a large number of the Christians suing this site are looking for a long term relationships, marriage or a long term friendship. All good Christian singles sites include detailed Christian personals and photo profiles of all their members. These Christian personals sections provide you with a selection criteria and allows you to choose the Christian single you are actually interested in. Remember that for most members using a Christian dating site, they are looking to find a serious lasting relationship based on Christian values and beliefs. Other features include Christian chat rooms where you can easily make new Christian friends or find Christian pen pals. They are also great places for finding Bible study partners, mentors or simply a great place to share your won Christian values and beliefs. Christian chat room can be a place of learning as well as an interactive meeting place for Christian singles seeking love. As all Christian chat rooms are efficiently monitored they are a safe place to meet and chat. Many Christian singles also find using Christian dating services convenient and affordable! You can access the Christian dating sites from anywhere, meet people living around the world and meet Christian singles at any time of the day or night all at a very low cost. Network Marketing Compensation Plans Are Stupid

By D Brown Brown Ok…Now That I’ve got your attention let me explain what I mean. I’ve had numerous debates with some very smart people and all they want to do is talk about the importance of compensation plans They always talk about how a lot of thought goes into compensation plans and how a proper compensation plan is vital to a companys growth and longevity. Blah, blah, blah, blah blah…. Now please understand that I am not disagreeing with those who take this position. There is A LOT of truth in what they are saying. My point is simply this. Making a compensation plan that is super-complicated is not conducive to getting people in the business. Here’s Why Most people dont understand a 4×7 forced matrix with roll-up and compression with a 1-up bonus structure that pays infinity bonuses down to 12 levels. It takes a PhD to understand that as long as you’ve achieved diamond status and have 6 members with platinum status below you then you’re eligible for the override bonuses on the 16the level…assuming of course you’ve met the BV and PV requirements. Instead why dont we just say…Get 4 who get 4 who get 4…and so on….and when this happens you’ll make a boatload of money. Let me put it another way. Do you understand everything there is to understand about electricity? But are you willing to flip the switch and get the light when it comes on? Heres the HARD CORE SIMPLE TRUTH of the matter. If you can effectively grow your downline then you will get checks in your mail-box. Your income will grow regardless of whether or not you understand the intricacies of the compensation plan. If you blindly join a business opportunity today and then you bring in 100 people tomorrow, then guess what…YOU’RE GETTING A CHECK! But… If you join a company, and you understand all of the intricacies of a the compensation plan but you dont bring in a single person then guess what…YOUR NOT GOING TO GET A CHECK It’s pretty simple if you ask me. So my suggestion is this. If a company feels it necessary to have a complicated compensation structure then thats cool. But from a marketing/recruiting standpoint my advice to you is to simplify the whole thing and just tell people: “Hey…if you can get X people and those people can duplicate your efforts then you’ll make X-thousand dollars a month” Remember — Keep It Super Simple. If you try to explain a complicated compensation structure to a prospect then chances are that you’ll confuse them. And in Sales training 101 it states that- A confused prospect NEVER buys! Fess Up! Are You a Spender or a Saver?

By Nathan Dawson If you are in the middle of marriage preparations, you may want to consider talking about your financial plan before officially tying the knot. For example, if one of you has sizable assets, you may want to consider consulting a marriage lawyer to draft a prenuptial agreement for the both of you to sign. Are you planning on having a joint bank account? Its not necessarily a bad idea, but a newly married man or woman may not have the same money management ideas as his or her spouse does. It can come as a shock to one spouse when the money from a joint bank account seems to be draining out faster than water spiraling down a kitchen drain. So, here is some marriage advice: now that the engagement ring is on your finger, have those conversations about money management with your fianc (e). Be honest about your spending habits. Come clean about your debts Statistics show that newlyweds will argue about money more than any other issue. If you dont communicate honestly about it now, you will likely need to get couple counseling to talk it over, later. Get the financial planning stuff out of the way now; that way, once youre a married couple you can talk about bigger and better things, such as family planning. Wouldnt you rather do that? How to Have Fun at Home When You Can’t Afford to Go Out

By Morgan James Are you strapped for cash? Bored out of your mind? Tired of watching meaningless TV shows? Here are some ideas for you that dont cost as much money as going out on the town. Have people over You can organize any kind of get together that you want: you can have a few girls over for tea, or you can have a bigger party (but remember to tell guests to BYOB!). For the price of a few bags of chips and some pop, you can have a great night. Theme nights Theme nights can be a lot of fun. Have girls night where you all paint your nails and do pedicures. Everyone can bring their stuff, and you can all mix and choose. If you have kids, you can organize a scavenger hunt. It can be fun and simple. Play Games You can play Balderdash or Scattergories with materials that you probably have around the house. For Balderdash, simply take a dictionary and have one person find a really hard word. Everyone invents a definition of the word and writes it down (the person with the dictionary copies the word down too). Then, when the person with the dictionary reads it aloud, everyone has to guess which the correct definition is. You get one point every time someone guesses your wrong answer, and you get one point for every answer you guess correctly. For Scattergories, simply write the alphabet down the side of a piece of a paper. Agree on a time limit. An easy way to do this is to put on a CD and use the length of one song as the timer. Then you choose a category and have to list items in that category for each letter that you can. You get one point for each original answer you have (as in, an answer nobody else has). You get two points for alliterative answers. For instance, if the category was Boy Bands and you choose Hermans Hermits, you get two points. Some good categories include cities in a particular state, things that rhyme with late, one word movie titles, actors in movies with Julia Roberts, famous painters, rappers, or whatever you choose. Organize a swap Youve watched every movie that you own. So organize to swap other peoples movies. If you always trade, then youll never lose your movies. You can even keep track of who has what, and write your name on your movies that you lend out. You can also organize a clothing swap, which is when your friends bring together the clothes that they dont want anymore and put them all in a pile. You can find new clothes and get rid of your old ones. The ones that nobody wants you can take to the St. Vincent de Paul. Stretch your Creativity Challenge yourself to do something that you have never done before. Write a sonnet; sketch a picture. Youll be surprised at what interest you. Go to the Park Okay, this one isnt really staying at home, but its always a nice way to get out and have fun. Diet and Weight Loss Plans – Where do I Start?

By Nik Barrell Always get a recommendation The first rule in choosing a diet or fitness program is to get a recommendation first. Do not just jump into the first weight loss plan that promises the world, the chances are that it wont deliver. Read up on the diet plan, look for reviews, see if the diet program carries testimonials and most importantly, look for a money back guarantee. A money back guarantee shows that the vendors of the program have faith in what they do. Diet for life Secondly you should consider what kind of diet you would like to choose. Fad diets are flooding the market and generally each diet is not suitable for everybody, some are not suitable for anybody, but thats another story. Ideally, a diet should be a way of life, a healthy eating plan, combined with a well-structured fitness regime. This way a diet is less of a chore and more of a sustained lifestyle choice. There is only one exception to that rule that I have ever recommended on my website to date and that is only due to the sheer effectiveness of the program. Otherwise I would avoid rapid weight loss programs and choose a diet for life. Compatibility How compatible are you with the diet? Some diets on the market are so regimented that they can lead to high irritability and make you feel down. Ask yourself what you need to consider. Time is always a factor involved and a flexible diet should fit around you, not the other way around. Another huge factor where compatibility is concerned, is knowing if the diet program can give you the support that you need. Some people are blessed with willpower and are happy to go about their diet and fitness regime off their own bat, however the majority of us are unable to do this, we need all the help we can get. Some diet, fitness and slimming programs on the market offer great support from professional dieticians, nutrition experts, fitness trainers and many, many more. If help is offered then why not make the most of it? Rut Busters: Changing Your Trade Show Routine

By Susan Friedmann Routine is comfortable. We like knowing what were going to do, when were going to do it, and what well be wearing while we do it. Its nice, safe and predictable. There are no surprises, no unforeseen contingencies, no upsets. There is also no growth, no excitement, and no spontaniety. Routines can easily become ruts, especially at a trade show. Its very easy to do, especially if you always go to the same shows, display in the same location, use the same graphics and literature, and go through the same sales spiel. It might seem effective. Itll definitely be comfortable. Its also one of the biggest mistakes you can make. Exhibiting is, by its very nature, is a constantly evolving art. To be successful, you need to embrace what is new and exciting. It requires pushing boundaries. If youre comfortable, youre not trying hard enough. Worse, youre running a very real risk: The risk of boring trade show attendees with your booth. People have a split second attention span. If youre not presenting something new, exciting, and engaging, to draw them in, most attendees are going to assume they already know what you have to offer and pass you by. When attendees walk right by your booth without giving it a second look, thats the same as having sales dollars flying right out the window. There are five easy steps to break out of a rut. 1) Realize the difference between branding and routine. Doing the same exact thing the same exact way time after time after time is NOT branding. Careful and intelligent placement of logos, consistent use of color, and overall design are all elements of branding. Look at McDonalds they have one of the strongest brands on the planet, yet have changed looks, catch phrases, uniforms and menus over the years. Take a close look at your branding efforts. Are they serving your marketing message, or are you simply repeating yourself? 2) Step outside your industry Great ideas come from unexpected sources. Ive gotten some of my best exhibit ideas from the retail world, where they carefully study the impact of color, music, and even temperature upon shoppers. Examine what motivates people to buy products that are very different from your own. What makes someone buy a motorcycle? Yogurt? Sleeping bags? Each of these items requires a different strategy, with many complex elements. Perhaps some of these elements would work well in your exhibit. Remember, its never a good idea to simply cut and paste elements from one advertising campaign onto your own. Catchphrases, graphics, and imagery may be copyrighted or proprietary. You want to expand your business, not enter litigation! Instead, analyze what makes a particular element work for you, and see how you can adapt it to meet your own business needs. 3) Get a fresh set of eyes Have someone who is in no way related to the trade show industry or your company look at your exhibit. What do they notice first? What impression do they get of your company? What emotions do your graphics evoke? Record their impressions and compare how they measure up to your marketing objectives. Many times we have looked at our own exhibits so many times that we dont see them anymore. This fresh set of eyes will be viewing your booth the same way the attendees do with no foreknowledge or preconcieved notions of how the exhibit is supposed to look. 4) Change up your teams Just because Fred, Ethel, Murray and Zane have ALWAYS been your trade show team does not mean they always have to be. Take a careful look at your staff. Who is personable and professional, with excellent product knowledge, strong sales skills, and enthusiasm? Send that person to the trade show. Sending one new person to a show can create a new dynamic, sending a whole new team guarantees youll get anything but a routine performance. No matter who you send, make sure that all staff members are trained. Old-hands need to refresh their skills and rookies need to acquire them! 5) Call in wardrobe Something as simple as changing clothes can totally alter a booth staffs performance. If theyve been wearing business attire, consider switching to a more casual yet coordinated look. Have the booth staff break out the suits and ties. Youll be amazed how differently they carry themselves and interact with attendees. Uniforms and logo clothing are particularly appropriate for some industries. For example, shippers world wide know UPS by their distinctive brown attire. If this is the case with your company, make sure that the uniform shows up at the trade show. In addition to your booth staff, make sure the uniform makes an appearance in graphics and literature to reinforce the image association in attendees minds. Written by Susan A. Personal Injury Claim – Win Without A Doubt!

By Mumtaz Shah Everyone likes winning! If you win by an inch or a mile, winning is winning! Now winning at personal injury is a different ball game altogether. Do you want to claim compensation in direct result of an accident or injury? Okay, that’s fine go ahead, you deserve it! Life Before A Personal Injury Claim I bet it was awesome… You were having the time of your life. Winning at everything, football, cricket, racing, baseball and even at work. Met targets, been promoted and of the likes. You were at the top of Mount Everest, going crazy like Rocky at the top of the stadium. You’ve heard about accident injury claims and injury compensation claims meaning all the same thing. But never had the pleasure of feeling it and you DON’T want to. You think it can’t be that bad except when you get involved in a car accident. Those I believe are painful! Anyway reaching the pinnacle of success couldn’t get any better. Then one day an accident injury occurs… to YOU! Your life falls apart. You can’t win a single thing! Not even a date. You become a goof in the eyes of other people. You use to go out every Friday night. But now thanks to the accident injury, your bed is the only Friday night entertainment… well for the time being. Life During An Injury Or Injury Claim You feel like crap. PERIOD! You were the first person everyone called when there was something going on everyday. You were like an operator, call after call after call. You had to specifically buy a phone that had a battery life for enough talk time in a whole day. Now you don’t even charge it for days and still your battery’s full! The Picture There’s nothing much you can do, beside catch up on films you kept thinking you’d get round to one day. Now you can watch movies all day or keep up to date with the news. What’s happening around the world? Before you hear about an accident and think how awful. But now you have absolute sincere remorse for those people in such situations. Just like Hurricane Katrina. How terrible is that? The Feeling You feel for other people, their losses, regardless how large or small. Considering the best you can do is watch TV, soap after soap, movies after movie. There’s one thing you should never watch are the music channels! These are happy, joyful 5 minute clips of people dancing, clapping, rocking their body and of the likes. If after a couple of clips your favourite tune comes on. You wanna move. You’ll remember how it felt to be in such a happy position, singing and dancing. You forget about your injury and move… ‘OUCH!’ You remember you’re injured and feel like crap again. Then you’ll start wishing you weren’t in that position and how the hell did you even get in that position in the first place. Just the thought of not moving let alone winning the games makes you think about your life in a different perspective. The Move After days of thoughts, it’s time to do something about it. Get the best medication possible for pain relief, get a physiotherapy arranged, anything that gets you out of bed. Anything to be part of the real world again. But what about the time lost? How are you going to get that back as once it’s gone it’s gone. You can’t recover that, practically impossible! The Injury Claim Make an accident claim or an injury claim, both giving the same result. Choose the best no win no fee solicitor around and go for it. Then pour your feelings out! Sounds crazy even stupid for some people to mention their emotions to an accident solicitor let alone a stranger. It tends to be more difficult for men than women. A compensation solicitor knows how you feel, they see many of the likes day in day out. However, if you don’t mention your feelings including your injury then they can’t make the ‘ultimate winning personal injury claim’. The Settlement Compensation settlements cheques are based on various factors. It’s not just your physical ability that’s affected, so are your feelings. For example if you were the best center forward in your neighbourhood, everyone wants you on their team. You can’t play for anyone and after a while they don’t want you on their team. How would you feel? Hundreds of professional players around the world have to give up their careers cause of an accident injury. They also have to choose a different profession. Introducing the Mysterious NTU Elder

By Joe DePalma Introducing the Mysterious NTU Elder as he holds his own life-credit classes around the Naked Truth University campus every day for curious students. * The NTU Elder: Listen to me my young apprentice. Look at your reflection in the still water of this pond and tell me what you see. * Student: Me? I see my reflection in the pond. * The NTU Elder: Good. Now from my point of view I can see two of you, correct? * Student: Yeah I guess. You can see my physical body and my reflection in the pond. So thats two, right? * The NTU Elder: Yes, now I ask you which one holds the key to your happiness: your body or your reflection? * Student: I, I dont know. * The NTU Elder: The answer lies with the you in the reflection. Your body only asks for nutrients, exercise and fresh air to be happy, yet your reflection on the other hand seems to need every possible whim and desire satisfied before it allows itself to be truly happy. * Student: If thats correct Ill never be truly happy! I have thousands of desires. Ill never be able to satisfy them all. * The NTU Elder: Precisely, so stop trying, my young friend. Look deeply now into your reflection and state out loud, Id rather be happy today with who I am right now without reason instead of waiting for some day when I hopefully become something better. * Student: Aaaaokay, Id rather be happy today with who I am right now without reason instead of waiting for someday when I hopefully become something better. * The NTU Elder: Good, now say it louder. * Student: Id rather be happy today with who I am right now without reason, instead of waiting for someday when I hopefully become something better! * The NTU Elder: Excellent, now take a slow deep breath, feel the words in your throat, and say it again.but this time truly believe it. * Student: ID RATHER BE HAPPY TODAY WITH WHO I AM RIGHT NOW WITHOUT REASON INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR SOMEDAY WHEN I HOPEFULLY BECOME SOMETHING BETTER! * The NTU Elder: Very good. Now when you continue to say this, youre actually altering your state of mind from a hopeless slave of your desires, to a soldier of happiness and opportunity. Do you understand the simplicity of this transformation? * Student: Yes, I feel better already. * The NTU Elder: Good. Whenever you feel low, remember this quick exercise and repeat it out loud. What have you got to lose? * Student: Nothing, I guess. * The NTU Elder: Good guess. ———————————————————– The Mysterious no-named Elder continues to drop some deep knowledge regarding the foundation of the NTU motto. (With Joes Translations in Parentheses) The more we analyze the things that happen to us, the clearer it becomes that everything we encounter is filtered through our individual points of view. If we have a point of view that the world is out to get us, everyday will seem like just another onslaught that we have to fend off. If our point of view is that everything is a waste of time, then all of our results will be lame at best. On the other hand, if our point of view is one of having Nothing 2 Lose, we wont care about the possible embarrassing or negative results of our actions. Every situation we encounter using the Nothing 2 Lose outlook will turn into a win-win/no-lose lifestyle. The Nothing 2 Lose lifestyle works like this: Imagine that you are attending a social gathering. Across the room is a student whom you find attractive and would like to get to know better. If you let your perceived fears prevent you from interacting with that person, the gravity of the situation will weigh heavily on your reflection in the water (You will begin to get down on yourself. Example: Oh well, she would probably hate me anyway if I talked to her. Or Ill never meet anyone. Im going to be alone for a long time.). Then after repeated failures to interact with people whom you are interested in, your image in the pond will actually begin to drowned. This means you become more and more depressed and self-hating as you continually let opportunities slip away). When your reflection begins to sink deep into the pond (This is when you beat yourself up for not taking action. Example: Damn me! Why cant I just go over and talk with her? My life sucks! Or I cant believe I let him walk away without saying anything, again!), you will indeed feel the lack of air in your lungs. This lack of oxygen will be consistent and unrelenting until the moment you begin resurrecting your distant image in the dark pond water (You will begin to feel better when you finally let go of your fears and take immediate action and engage that fellow student whom you find attractive in a conversation). However, without direct action, your reflection can remain trapped in this watery grave for years (You could spend a very long time being depressed, alone and disliking yourself). Whereupon, you will begin to believe that you are inferior to students who manage to remain above water and full of breath (Youll hate others for being able to do what you wont let yourself do). Next, through your feelings of inadequacy, you will build up a false sense of security by telling yourself that it is not your fault that youre stuck below the surface of the pond and cant breathe (Youll convince yourself that your depression is everyone elses fault). Rather than taking responsibility for your plight, you will blame the places that you go to, and you will convince yourself that the people you fail to interact with are in wrong in one way or another. Yet deep down you know that the only difference between the breathing and the breathless is simple and straightforward action. When you learn to calm the winds of your hesitation and reclaim your rightful place above the water, the words you choose and the results that follow are meaningless. For once you take the action of interaction with someone you find appealing, you are guaranteed a win-win situation. No matter what he or she says back to you, you will know you have done all you could do at that given point in time to make your reflection in the pond rise high above the trappings of breathless solitude (Youll have taken action and done all you could to fulfill your heart). This rising above the water of which I speak is certainly an uncertain and daunting task to say the least. Very few students can bring themselves face to face with rejection and possible embarrassment. That is why true happiness is reserved for only those NTU students who know that the choices between interacting (breathing) and seclusion (drowning) are not so much choices as the are sentences. While one option offers a life without limits, the other one sentences its victims to an undetermined stint in personal solitary confinement. Therefore the appearance of a choice is only that…an appearance. Fret not my young pupil, learning to breathe may seem difficult at first, but once you begin, the hardest part is behind you. Once implemented, the Nothing 2 Lose lifestyle grows proportionately stronger as you use it and begin to take control of your happiness. The best realization in life is when you experimentally understand that your happiness is completely under your control. Take a moment to imagine how extraordinary it will be to have complete freedom from your fears, anxiety and the constant threat of downing your reflection. Your social, academic and love life will flourish even though every physical aspect of your life is exactly the same as it has always been. The only change in your life will of course be the invisible transformation of your point of view. You can start by practicing the Nothing 2 Lose in everyday situations like expressing an opinion in class or making the Clear the Air phone call to someone you have been arguing with and havent spoken to in a long time. The natural high you will get from controlling the path of your own happiness will be 100% addictive. All you have to do is get out of your own way. Living the Nothing 2 Lose goes way beyond social situations. It goes to the place where we generate our self-worth and dances around until our reflection in the pond smiles back at us. This lifestyle allows us to live in action, free from the prison of lonely observation. Look into your reflection my young friend. I am always in there saying, When trying to walk on water worry about the third step when you take your first. *** Joes Final Translation *** If you worry about the first step, youll never get started because its the start that stops most students.
